WOW! What an incredible year. As I look back at everything that happened in 2016, I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude to so many people. So let me first start by thanking all the people who allow me to live my dream every day with Life in Bloom.
It’s no secret, we have the best clients. This year was full of the sweetest, most caring and considerate client’s we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Not only that but they all had impeccable style as well. Thanks for trusting & collaborating with us to bring your incredible visions to life. Life in Bloom would be nothing without you and for that we are incredibly grateful.
We also have the best crew. With a talented group of core designers surrounded by some incredible floral designers and a hardcore install team, I’m a firm believer that we’ve become the company to beat. Are we the biggest? No. But our teamwork, communication, and hard-work is the best in the biz, and I know that to be a fact. Our crew worked tirelessly this year and gave it 110% with no detail left unnoticed. And they did it all with a big smile. There have been some pretty tough installs. One in particular comes to mind. One of our largest events of the year, starting at 6:30 in the morning and not finishing until 7:00 in the evening. This day just happened to be the MOST humid and hot day Chicago had all summer. Our three trucks were parked outside of our studio and our crew was starting to load them when one of the carts hit a giant pothole and completely collapsed. Apparently 700 pounds of candles was too much for the wheels to handle. So needless to say it was only an hour into our day and the entire crew was drenched in sweat. Everyone pitched in, and within minutes we unloaded the cart directly onto the truck without losing a minute to our day. Did I mention it was extremely hot? And yet, I never heard a single person complain that entire day. Life in Bloom would be nothing without the entire team so I am incredibly grateful for such a hardworking and positive one!
We started the season with a winter wedding at Ravenswood Event Center and ended it at the Chicago Athletic Association. Here’s a little snippet of the beginning to the end of 2016 and everything in between!

In July we welcomed Erin McLoraine, one of our freelancers aboard as a full time designer. Erin has an infectious energy and keeps me calm on just about any install. Erin’s first wedding designed at Life in Bloom was at the Public Hotel pictured below 🙂

Jaime & Tom’s wedding was a highlight of the year as we brought in many personalized and custom made details which really helped bring their event to life. Custom wood bars, custom graphic bar surround, custom pillows and a preppy trellis suspended over the head table.
A large wedding of that size require meticulous organization.
The studio during the week!
Thousands of flower stems, topiaries, succulents and pineapples of all sizes were designed to create a preppy meets industrial vibe at Morgan Manufacturing.

The prints we ordered weighed 5 pounds but they decided to ship them in a 243 pound box. Good thing I’ve been doing all that lifting…
Which turned into THIS beautiful Graphic Bar below.

We ended the streak of weddings with a bang at Bridgeport Art Center with an incredible wedding with Ali Phillips for which we produced two of the largest suspended pieces we’ve ever done.

Finally ending the season with two winter weddings.
2016 was the best year yet for Life in Bloom! I am so thankful for all the people who have supported me throughout the years; my parents, my team, my friends, and all of our clients who trusted us to do their weddings, and of course my husband Tim for being there no matter what. Life in Bloom would be nothing without you all. Cheers to more exciting things to come in 2017! Happy New Year everyone!
Love Love Love! This is amazing 🙂
