Tyler & Reid were married on an unbelievably gorgeous day in August in Northfield, IL. The couple never needed to search for a venue as Tyler’s childhood home was the most perfect spot for a backyard garden wedding. The ceremony and reception were held in separate areas of the client’s backyard, both of which were surrounded by a lush landscape of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
Backyard Garden Wedding Ceremony
Walking up to the ceremony, guests were submersed into a floral dream! The ceremony aisle was lined with a super lush hedge of floral that extended the entire length of the aisle. The hedge of floral was comprised of delphinium, roses, greenery and so much more. At the altar, six massive floral arrangements framed the bride and groom in stone urns. These romantic arrangements were larger than life! Behind the couple was a backdrop of cascading floral down their masonry fireplace. The perfect compliment to this backyard garden wedding.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Immediately following ceremony, the cocktail hour was held around the pool area. Floral petals in the hot tub and a wooden escort card wall adorned with floral and greenery were just a few of the gorgeous details that helped dress things up. Of course, their planters were filled with seasonal designs from Life in Bloom Landscapes (our sister company)! On their wedding day, we added in pops of blush hydrangea and snapdragon to make them even more lush and consistent with the feel of the wedding.
Moving into the reception, guests were welcomed into a lovely white tent on the far side of their property. Although there were many “show-stopping” moments in the reception, all eyes were initially drawn to the massive hanging floral structure with hundreds of Edison bulbs dropping through. The piece was dripping with smilax, white delphinium, snapdragon, and pink larskpur. The centerpieces varied and as lush as they come, overflowing with a romantic blush and white floral palette. In the end, the first dance image at the bottom says it all – a backyard garden wedding of your dreams… a real life fairy tail.
