Mackalah & Brent were married in a beautiful barn in Knoxville, IL on June 7, 2014. I’ve been to a lot of weddings and I’ve seen a lot of stuff… but I’ve never seen so much rain. And yet it was absolutely perfect.
When the torrential downpours forced the ceremony indoors, the setting quickly changed from an open field surrounded by tall grasses to a rustic, dimly lit barn with old wooden floors and bales of hay scattered around the room for additional seating.
Their floral palate consisted of the most beautiful pastel & romantic blooms that early summer has to offer. We used lush & fluffy white & pink peonies, peach garden roses, lisianthus, as well as accents of white veronica & white tweedia. Accented with gorgeous silk ribbon from Frou Frou Chic, along with the lush fluffy blooms, Mackalah’s bouquet was by far one of my absolute favorites.
As I watched the two stand under the hanging lights of the barn and exchange vows, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmingly blessed. I’ve known Mackalah growing up pretty much all my life, and it was such an honor to create a bouquet that she would walk down the aisle with to start her new life with Brent. That’s one reason I love this crazy beautiful industry, the personal connection you have with people. I am so lucky that couples choose me to help play a part in one of the most special days in their lives. It doesn’t get much better than that!
