Jessie & Chris were married at the Garfield Park Conservatory this past Fall in October. The Garfield Park Conservatory, which sits on the outskirts of the city on the west side, is a historic gem! The Architecture of the building itself is stunning, and when you combine that with its super lush and exotic array of plants, it is hard to beat as far as wedding venues go.
Of all of the weddings that we produced this past year, this was quite possibly the one that I was looking forward to the most. My husband told me afterwards that if we had been married in the fall, this is what he would have wanted our wedding to look like: The ultimate compliment!
Jessie and Chris had an overall vision for an organic feeling, yet elegant celebration with a color scheme of Deep Reds, Dusty Pinks, and Ivory. Other than that, they let us run wild. So we took their vision, tossed in a whole lot of gorgeous greenery and created one for the books!
For the personal flowers, I created wild & loosely structured bouquets with lots of olive, eucalyptus, and jasmine vine to give that organic feeling with some deep bold blooms to create a high contrast of both color and texture.
In addition to the bouquets, we created flower crowns for the maids & flower girls, even the bride donned one after the ceremony.
The ceremony (which had some of the best folk music I have heard in a while) had an aisle lined by two pedestals both hosting urns which had nothing but olive branches pouring out… and at the end of the aisle was a birch wood arch wrapped in a eucalyptus garland. Drooling yet? We’re just getting started!
As for the table top decor, long rectangular farm tables weaved throughout the greenhouse adorned with lush eucalyptus garlands. The garlands were sprinkled with blooms in shades of dusty pink, burgundy, ivory, and blush amidst an abundance of candlelight which glowed underneath the glass as the sun fell beyond the horizon.
Lastly, for the details, Jessie handcrafted all of the stationery and amazing details. From the menu’s at each guests’ place-setting to the ‘Yay’ flags to the invitations & save the dates, no details was left unnoticed. They poured their hearts into their wedding which was, in the truest sense, a celebration of them as a couple. I have seen couples try to tackle these details themselves and fall short, but Jessie & Chris knocked it out of the park! Everything had MEANING and it was so well produced. It was such a privilege to be a part of this fantastic affair!
