I wasn’t quite sure what to feature this week for flower friday until I walked into the wholesale florist to pick up some goodies for Easter, and I saw some gorgeous Cherry Branches sitting in the middle of the room in full bloom. They were simply stunning. Cherry blossoms are my absolute favorite blooming branch. Unfortunately they are only available for a short window of time in the Spring. They come in both pink and white. There are thousands of different varieties of Cherry trees, all of which are native to Japan. The United States does have quite a few varieties over here now. In fact, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is occurring right now in Washington DC. It would be lovely to see the multitude of Cherry trees blooming in person one day. The festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 300 Cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. Ok, enough rambling about their history, enjoy the images below!
