If you didn’t catch our blog on lighting two weeks ago, our new design series takes an in-depth look at some of the additional decor services that we at Life In Bloom offer outside of just floral. While known for our floral expertise, Life in Bloom can help you with linens, lighting, draping, graphics, and so much more. Today we are talking about another favorite design element that can be used to cover, frame, or completely transform your venue… draping! We love the way draping can create drama and romance in any venue. Here are a handful of ways that you can transform your space with draping:
Ceremony Draping
If you walked into your venue and wondered just how in the world you were going to transform your space into an intimate ceremony setting, look no further! Draping is your best friend. When used correctly, draping can both help to frame the ceremony through a Chuppah or a dramatic arch, as well as create a softer and more romantic atmosphere throughout the entire space. See a few great examples of that below…

Reception Draping
There are many reasons that you might want to incorporate draping into your reception. You may be covering something in the room that stands out or doesn’t fit your vision, or perhaps you want to create a dramatic entrance, or maybe you just want to help soften the overall room to make it feel more romantic and less industrial or bland. Below are some examples that we love!

AccentDraping
These little touches of draping tied back help to completely transformed this barn and provide a more elegant feel while also breaking up the space visually!
Ceiling Draping
The ceiling below is fully draped with sheer fabric. This helps to create a light and airy ambience throughout the room. Without the fabric, you would just see the harsh lines of the tent ceiling. I’d take the fabric any day.
