The Salt Shed, popularly known as a concert venue, has recently opened its doors in another light, offering its spaced to be rented for weddings, corporate and social events. Alyssa & Jason’s wedding celebration quite literally made history, as they were the very first to say “I Do” at the venue. And wow was it phenomenal!
As guests entered the venue, they were escorted to a beautiful Chuppah structure that immediately caught guests eye as they arrived into the vast dark arena. Adorned with hanging glass globes flickering with tea lights, the Chuppah’s warm glow acted as the focal in the dimly lit room. of warmth and romance. The couple perfectly blended their personal style while accentuating the bones of the venue, which is sometimes a challenge to do… Especially considering the open industrial feel of the Salt Shed. The aisle was elegantly lined with glowing lanterns, directing guests to a unique half-moon seating arrangement that made the ceremony feel intimate while having a large initial impact. Four 10’ tall manzanita trees were designed behind the nuptial site creating such an impressive look while beautifully filling up space in the venue.
NOTE: Being the first Floral and Event Designers to produce a wedding in The Salt Shed, we highly recommend adding height to the venue in some form of tree, arrangement, or hanging focal.
After the ceremony, guests were ushered to the venue’s ticketing area that was re-styled to a romantic cocktail hour while Life In Bloom got busy transforming the space for the Reception. Tables and chairs were hustled into place, linens were set and floral arrangements brought the room to life. The trees were moved to flank each corner of the dance floor, creating an intimate and welcoming atmosphere for speeches, dances, and of course, the party! So many elements throughout this event were truly perfect- from the beautifully reflexed roses, to the petite textural sweet pea and the custom printed dance floor, this one will be hard to top! A personal favorite design touch were the table lamps evenly placed throughout the head table. Something about adding a residential feature to an industrial space is so artful and creates such an impact.
