Chicago Athletic Association Wedding

Back in November we produced an intimate, moody, candlelit wedding at the Chicago Athletic Association’s White City Ballroom for two very special Brides. The first snowfall of the year delicately covered the ground outside and made for a wintery whimsical view from the White City Ballroom while setting up. From the ceremony to the dinner reception, the mood was extremely romantic and elegant. An aisle flanked by two wood pedestals topped with robust beautiful pedestal arrangements, surrounded by a mass of pillar candles welcomed guests into the space. At the end of the aisle awaited a 3/4 ring of garland with hundreds of candles. scattered throughout. Absolutely Stunning!

After the ceremony, guests moved into the next room for cocktail hour as we quickly transformed the room into an equally stunning environment. Keeping with the dark and moody feel, the tables were adorned with brass compote centerpieces full of loose organic blooms such as wine anemone, burgundy scabiosa, navy privet berries, lavender, chocolate queen anne’s lace, & amnesia roses. Lots of greenery accented the floral including seeded eucalyptus, purple smokebush, agonis, olive and delicately trailing jasmine vine. Petite cloches enclosing roses, adorned with gold vinyl numbers helped guests find their seats. Clear crystal patterned and rose gold miniature votives illuminated the table and added candlelight to the overall ambiance.

The candles from the ceremony were repurposed during the reception adding a perfect glow amongst the gorgeous fireplaces and the ceremony arrangements were moved to the corners of the dance floor helping to define the space. The White City Ballroom is a beautiful space by itself, and with the glow of the evening candlelight and the textural arrangements throughout the room, it truly was a sight to see.
