This past Fall, we designed and produced the floral and decor for the first Ace Hotel Chicago wedding. So-Jin and Kevin wanted a wedding with jewel tones and warm lighting throughout the space, which was perfect for what ended up being a cool and rainy day in October. With a palette of burgundy, plum, maroon, peach, and navy blooms, the rich colors provided a warm richness to the wedding reception space at The Ace Hotel.
So-Jin’s bridesmaids all wore varying dresses which complimented each other perfectly. So-Jin, in her white dress, carried a gorgeous jewel-toned bouquet full of the most beautiful fall textures. The colors of her bridal bouquet matched the bridesmaids dress colors spot-on! The bridesmaids all carried a smaller more simpler version of So-Jin’s bouquet.
As guests arrived at The Ace Hotel Chicago wedding venue, they were greeted by a custom chalkboard print escort card wall directing them towards their assigned table. The wooden frame was adorned with a lush Salal and Eucalyptus garland with a few blooms tucked in.
The intimate Ace Hotel Chicago Wedding reception was comprised of three long tables made up of 4 farm tables each. All of the tables were graced with rose quartz velvet runners by BBJ. At the end of the room, acting as the focal for the evening, was the head table over which a beautiful suspended floral piece hung dripping with smilax and burgundy amaranthus.
Lush garlands and compote arrangements adorned the tables with deep, moody colors of burgundy dahlias, quicksand roses, grapes, and artichokes. The magnolia leaves, with their brown backs, created that late fall aesthetic. Each plate was set with a burgundy napkin and a sprig of rosemary for the perfect finishing touch for this Ace Hotel Chicago Wedding.
Pillar candles and gold votives covered the tables from end to end and cafe lights hung above the space creating that warm, intimate feeling that was so important to the bride and groom from the very beginning of the planning process!
