167 Events Winter Wedding With The Most Perfect Skyline Views

Our team was incredibly excited to work at one of Chicago’s newest wedding venues, 167 Events, this past Winter. So for this February wedding, we opted for a bold, colorful floral direction to create a moody romantic aesthetic. Surely, one of the greatest attributes about 167 Events is the floor to ceiling unobstructed views of Chicago’s skyline. Therefore, for the overall event design, we kept centerpieces low and understated to allow the skyline to really shine through.

Before we jump in and share more details, a big congratulations to our happy couple! As always, we feel lucky to do what we do, and that is even more true when we get to create magic in a new space like we did here at 167 Events. And what a magical wedding it was! While it was winter outside, it was warm and cozy on the 17th floor of 167 N. Green. Now enjoy a look at this romantic moody wedding dream that our team brought to life!

167 Events Skyline Ceremony

As the sun-set to the west, the skyline directly behind the deconstructed floral arch started to glow for the start of Danielle & William’s ceremony at 167 Events. Meanwhile, the smokey ghost chairs offered a sleek and quiet aesthetic, turning all eyes to the breathtaking ceremony structure that framed the happy couple. And by the time the couple said “I-Do”, the day had turned to night and the entire city started to light up, and the candles lining the aisle created a warm glowing exit into cocktail hour.

Moody Romantic Wedding Reception

After Cocktail Hour, guests returned to the main space where the ceremony had previously taken place, to find a room transformed. At first glance, flickering candlelight filled the venue along with artfully constructed centerpieces containing a romantic and slightly moody floral palette. Flowers including Garden Roses, Chocolate Queen Anne’s Lace, Burgundy Scabiosa, Burgundy Dahlias, Spray Roses, Plum Ranunculus, Amnesia Roses, Privet Berry, Anemone, and Cineria Eucalyptus graced the tables. And during the room-turn, our team moved the lush, deconstructed floral arch to be repurposed as the backdrop to the head table.
