Venue Spotlight: Museum of Contemporary Art

Today, we are putting the spotlight on a beautiful Chicago wedding venue located in the heart of downtown. A space overlooking the lake, a sculpture garden, and stunning architecture, could only be: the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Venue: Museum of Contemporary Art – MCA

Atrium & Terrace

Capacity: Seated Ceremony & Reception – 200 Guests

Seated Reception Only – 300 Guests

Location: Magnificent Mile

About:

The Museum of Contemporary Art is no ordinary museum, it is actually one of the world’s largest contemporary art museums. Your guests are surrounded by incredible exhibits and are actually allowed to explore them during your wedding. The museum has an architecturally stunning garden area where you can have your ceremony. For your reception, you can choose the outdoor terrace, or the atrium in the midst of museum exhibits.

Tips:

If you are having a reception in the atrium, we love to see color. The walls are white and when you bring in color, the room is breath-taking! We also love to see cafe lights strung in this area, the ceilings are stunning, yet very tall so the cafe lights make the dinner experience more cozy. If your reception is on the terrace, long tables with low arrangements is the perfect fit. We also love to see cafe lights on the terrace: as seen below!
