Chicago Botanic Gardens – McGinley Pavillion

It’s not surprising that the Chicago Botanic Garden is one of the most beautiful places in Illinois to say “I do”. With 385 acres of landscaped gardens, it sets the scene for a magical day. McGinley Pavilion is a tented area of the gardens specifically for weddings and events. We are lucky enough to get a Chicago Botanic Garden wedding multiple times a year and this is one of our favorites from 2019!

Chicago Botanic Garden Fall Floral Palette

Nina & James love fall texture and color. When originally meeting with Nina, she wanted every fall texture we could add to her floral palette, so we did! The floral palette was filled with: burgundy dahlias, cafe au lait dahlias, burgundy astilbe, snowberry, plum ranunculus, burgundy hanging amaranthus and smokebush foliage. The color palette was built upon: whites, dusty pink, burgundy, plum and rich greens.

Chicago Botanic Garden Wedding Ceremony & Reception

The day started out dry, but the radar looked like storms were headed to the gardens. Just a few hours before the ceremony a rain plan was called. It seemed as though the minute the ceremony began, it began down-pouring! The falling rain in the backdrop was so romantic and thankfully all guests were warm and dry inside the tent. The ceremony, originally planned to be in the English Walled Garden, was only enhanced by being moved into the pavilion. They got to utilize their crystal chandeliers, ceiling greenery and suspended floral as part of the ceremony decor! Thanks to Kirsty of LOLA Events, everything ran perfectly smooth.

The reception was absolutely stunning! The lush backdrop of the gardens mixed with this fall color palette really caught your eye. Not a detail was forgotten, here are a few of our favorites: dusty rose velvet linens, black and white checkered dance floor, crystal chandeliers tangled with smilax vines, a custom ombre escort card board and the head table of your dreams!
