In the midst of a busy wedding season, we slowed down to create this beautiful Chicago Illuminating Company wedding. Since their wedding was filled with fine textures and the sweetest blooms, it’s one of our favorites. Our lovely bride, Sophie, grew up in France and wanted to incorporate touches of home throughout her Chicago Illuminating Company wedding. And when you think of French-style floral design, images of soft romantic colors, lush greens, and of course elegant vases often come to mind. So to capture that vibe, we used peach, blush, taupe, ivory, pink, and a touch of plum.
The wedding ceremony at Chicago Illuminating Company took place in their courtyard tent. The tent was set with a simple wood arch with an asymmetrical floral cluster tucked into the corner. The cluster was made of Italian Ruscus, Olive, White Delphinium, Peach Garden Roses, and Ivory Spray Roses. Then we weaved a long white drape along the rest of the arch to create a more romantic look. Lush chair ties and ivory rose petals lined the aisle while string lights hung above, one of our favorite parts of any Chicago Illuminating Company Wedding!
Next, once the wedding ceremony was complete, as guests headed inside for cocktail hour, we quickly flipped the room. While guests mingled inside, we transformed the ceremony into a beautiful reception space all under an hour. We used a similar palette of romantic blooms inside of gold vases, and created bud vase arrangements amongst gold lanterns to provide a warm glow all night.
