Bridgeport Art Center Fall Wedding With Hanging Flowers

With a team of A-List vendors, a beautiful venue, and a gorgeous floral palette, it should be no surprise that Meredith and Mark’s wedding at Bridgeport Art Center is one of our all-time favorite weddings that we’ve ever produced here at Life In Bloom!

When we first met with Meredith, she had a distinct and unique vision for what she wanted her wedding to look and feel like.  While she wanted it to be beautiful, more than anything, she wanted something fresh and original that would leave her guests in awe.

Their ceremony was held in the Sculpture Garden at Bridgeport Art Center, which for November 12th in Chicago, was a pretty bold decision. Fortunately, the weather cooperated, and with some heat lamps, hundreds of candles lining the aisle, and a heavy treatment of soft ivory drapes throughout the space, the courtyard became a warm and inviting oasis where the couple exchanged their vows as the sun set beyond the walls of the courtyard.

While all of this was happening, our team was busy putting the final touches on some of the most fantastic suspended floral arrangements that you’ve ever seen! Lush swooshes of Smilax vine and white Delphinium and Snap-Dragon hung above the 24′ long tables which framed the dance floor. Above the dance floor hung chandeliers with greenery climbing its way from the ceiling to the chandeliers themselves adding the perfect romantic touch!

Below the hanging floral, the tables themselves were set with mirror runners and gold boat style centerpieces that overflowed with white Stock, white and lavender Lisianthus, lavender Spray-Roses, Eucalyptus, Agonis, Ranunculus, Queen-Anne’s Lace, and Anemone to name a few!

Half of the round tables featured a massive clear glass garnier vase which had sprays of Curly Willow and Hawaiian Dendrobium Orchids pouring out with candles at the base.  The other half of the round tables had a gold compote style arrangement with a similar floral palette as the gold boat arrangements from the 24′ long tables.

Lastly, for the sweetheart table, we created the must beautiful and lush burgundy and purple floral garland which graced the front of the couple’s table.

As guests stepped off of the large elevators and into the main dining space, they were greeted by two oversized chalkboards which had a lush garland hanging from each board.  The chalkboards, which featured Meredith and Mark’s monogram from their stationary, acted as a seating chart for the guests.  Regardless of which table they were assigned, each table’s centerpiece was as impressive as the next!

It was such a pleasure bringing this event design to life.  Our creative collaborators included:
