Weddings. Weddings. Weddings. Where do I begin…  I LOVE Weddings.

My personal approach to weddings is personalization and attention to detail.  There is nothing I love more than a wedding that truly represents and speaks of the Bride and Groom.  After all, this day is all about them and the love they share.  I have always been a perfectionist and enjoy seeing everything down to the tiniest of details.

A lot of times when I get together with a bride, the first thing we start talking about are their likes and dislikes when it comes to flowers.  Now, while I am a floral designer it makes perfectly good sense that a conversation would develop this way.  However, my favorite meetings are those that start with a conversation where I learn more about the couple, their personalities, and what their wedding means to them.  Then I can start thinking flowers, because I understand the mood they are going for.  It is during these types of conversations that the most beautiful and personalized weddings start to take form.

Having recently been married myself, my husband and I personally let our desired mood and own interests be the driving force of the design of our wedding.  From there we were able to determine our floral style.  I had previously worked for Botanicals, a high end floral and event design firm here in Chicago.  Jessica Griffin, a co-worker at Botanicals and I designed our lovely garden inspired wedding together.  Most of the other details were DIY.  Believe me, it’s all about the little details.  I truly think the little details made our larger wedding of over 200 people seem more small and intimate.  We are still receiving comments about all of the small details that reflected who we are as a couple and those are the things we will always remember about our wedding.  For example: both being nature lovers, we opted for an Olive “Wish Tree” in lieu of a guestbook where guests could leave us well-wishes or advice and hang them from the branches.  We will keep those wishes and memories with us for life.   Check out our Garden Inspired Wedding here on Style me Pretty!
